Regular or Vegan Roller Skates?

Roller skate wheels and plates for roller skates are always made from synthetic materials. However, the boots of many high-quality roller skates are (at least partially) made from animal leather. Fortunately, there are now plenty of vegan alternatives available.

The shoes of high-quality vegan roller skates are made from a strong, durable fiber. At first glance, you often can't even tell that it's a vegan boot. The lifespan is about the same as the leather version. In some cases, the shoe may feel a bit stiffer, but that depends on the model.

Wide Range of Vegan Roller Skates

At Sucker Punch Skate Shop, you'll find various types of vegan roller skates. Brands like Riedell, Antik, Bont, Moxi, and Chaya offer many vegan options. There are fullyvegan roller skate bootsmade from synthetic materials, such as microfiber, Durolite, and faux leather. Examples include the Solaris by Riedell, the AR2 and Jet Carbon by Antik, the ParkStar by Bont, and the Beach Bunny and Vegan Jack by Moxi.

Leather is an expensive raw material, while manufacturers like to offer affordable products. That's why many entry-level roller skates are made from synthetic materials. An extra advantage: no animals were harmed in the making of these roller skates! The Riedell R3 are great vegan roller derby skates. The inside of these boots is comfortably lined with a soft fabric or foam.

Other roller skate boots are made from leather, but this can be replaced with vegan faux leather. Such customization does require some effort from the manufacturer. Therefore, you should expect a higher price and additional delivery time. In return, you get the most popular roller skates in an animal-friendly version. Riedell offers this option for various models, such as the Riedell Solaris, Riedell Blue Streak, Riedell 495, and Riedell 265.

Finally, some new roller skates are almost entirely vegan. A small part of the boots, such as the toe caps or parts of the soles, is still made from leather. Good examples are the Chaya Ruby and the Vertigo Q4.

Some shops promote these roller skates as vegan, even though they aren't entirely. On this page, you'll find exclusively 100% vegan quads.
